In a proactive move to enhance the safety of residents and tourists in the mountainous regions, the Sikkim government has launched a Comprehensive Avalanche Safety Plan. This initiative comes as part of the state’s continuous efforts to mitigate the risks posed by avalanches, particularly in the high-altitude areas of Nathu La, Lachung, and Yuksom. The plan aims to protect lives, improve disaster response, and safeguard the state’s eco-tourism industry.
