Nagaland Achieves Major Milestone in Digitizing Land Records

Transforming Land Administration in Nagaland: Nagaland has made significant progress in digitizing its land records, paving the way for enhanced transparency, improved governance, and efficient land management. The Digital India Land Records Modernization Programme (DILRMP) has made great strides in modernizing land administration across the state.


Key Achievements:

  • Digitizing Land Records:
    • As of March 2024, Nagaland has completed the digitization of land records for over 586 villages across nine districts.
    • This includes updating Records of Rights (RoR) and creating electronic copies, ensuring more accessibility and accuracy in land documentation.

  • Survey and Mapping:
    • Ground Control Points have been established in all districts, ensuring the effective use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for mapping.
