How to report an error

Tell us the article, the specific claim, and what you believe the correct position is. Please include a source if you have one.

What we do

We check the claim against the original source. If we were wrong, we amend the article, add a dated correction note at the foot of it explaining what changed, and update the modified date. We do not quietly edit an article to erase a mistake.

Takedowns

We do not remove accurate published articles on request. We will correct inaccuracies, and we will consider removal where publication would cause demonstrable harm.
